The BlockfooD BD3000 "W h i s p e r" skin separator has revolutionized the tomato peeling operation.

Peeled tomato . . . not battered tomato!

The BlockfooD srl company has designed and constructed a new skin separator, able to remove fragments of skin from the tomatoes after the peeling operation without handling them roughly.
This is because the BD3000 "Whisper" Skin Separator guarantees an optimum rotation speed of the counter-rotating rollers for the characteristics and condition of the tomatoes after peeling. The rotation speed no longer depends on the conveyor speed and therefore on production

It's better being able to choose the rotation speed of the rollers than not being able to choose it at all ! !!

  • the rotation speed of the rollers does not necessarily have to be high, when high production is required!
  • the conveyance speed does not necessarily have to be high, when you are looking for a better finish to the product!
  • the rotation speed of the rollers does not necessarily have to be low, when high production is not required!

With "Whisper" the combinations of roller rotation speed and conveyor speed are infinite:


Low conveyor speed + high rotation speed of rollers; when you need to satisfy a short production run and the tomatoes to be treated are particularly difficult to peel.


Low conveyor speed + low rotation speed of rollers; when you need to satisfy a short production run and the tomatoes to be treated are particularly easy to peel.


High conveyor speed + high rotation speed of rollers; when you need to satisfy a long production run and the tomatoes to be treated are particularly difficult to peel

"Whisper" has been completely "re-designed".


The only thing left of the old Skin Peeler is the concept of the counter-rotating rollers that pinch the tomatoes.
BlockfooD has, in fact, developed this new machine around this concept, paying particular attention to the safety regulations of the EEC machine directive. Then, by eliminating one of the basic parts of the "old" Skin Peeler, a machine with an unrivalled low noise level during operating has been obtained.
Machine body made of hot-rolled stainless steel Aisi304 sheet that acts as frame and protection of the moving parts.
Windows for inspection and cleaning at the end of processing fitted with closing casing.
Shafts made of stainless steel Aisi420, fitted with reinforced watertight square polyamide flange supports.
Conveyor chain made of special steel, on which the pairs of counter-rotating rollers are fitted, each having a drive pinion and counter-rotating pinions.
Optimum quality pre-stretched drive chain for counter-rotating rollers.
Pneumatic control unit for forced lubrication of the roller drive chain and the chain conveyor, with a tank holding approx. 3 litres and a timer.
Conveyor drive pinions and roller rotating chain drive pinion, fitted on their shafts with fitting device to guarantee perfect alignment of the rollers.
Idle conveyor pinions and idle pinion for roller rotation chain, fitted on their shafts with low friction sliding bearing to guarantee optimum performance.
Double washing circuit, to keep the machine in a condition of maximum efficiency. One, with blade sprayers, is placed at the beginning of the return stretch of the conveyor to hit directly the rubberized rollers, the other, with sprayball, is placed on the lower part for the lower hopper that feeds the longitudinal screw conveyor.
Transverse extraction screw, driven directly by a worm screw gear motor, allows the evacuation of the tomato waste and juice that is freed during this processing operation, thanks to a number of scrapers fitted on the carrier chain and to the collecting metal sheet placed under the rollers.
Longitudinal extraction screw, driven directly by a worm screw gear motor, allows the drainage of tomato waste, juice and residues from the washing operations, thanks to the collecting metal sheets arranged in a "V" shape and placed under the rollers.
Under-frame supporting made of rectangular stainless steel Aisi304 tube, complete with articulated feet to compensate for any unevenness in the floor.
Chain conveyor drive unit, with right-angled axis gear motor whinchis fitted directly on the drive shaft of the conveyor, that also acts as countershaft for the chain unit that drives the rotation of the rollers.
Roller rotation chain conveyor, with right-angled axis gear motor fitted directly on the drive shaft of the drive unit of the roller rotation chain unit, that also acts as countershaft for the conveyor.
